National University of Singapore: Entrepreneurship Club Ideation Event

What's the biggest challenge on young entrepreneurial minds in one of the dynamic, wealthy metropolis' in Asia? How to connect with other entrepreneurs in Asia, Europe, and the US.

We tackled this challenge at the National University of Singapore with an intimate team of Entrepreneurship club executives.  The techniques we used are as follows:

  1. Reframing the challenge
  2. Flipping the challenge
  3. Tackling the challenge from the points of view of random stakeholders
  4. Creating mock partnerships with global companies to see how this would affect decision making
At the end, the students were satisfied with the 200+ ideas generated, and the next steps included categorizing the ideas to find the ideal ones to test.

IdeaKube Goes International
IdeaKube goes international! We held our first Ideation Party outside of the US this past weekend. A truly global event - we had local Singaporeans, Europeans, Indians, Americans and expats squeezed into a Singaporean pint-sized space! But we managed to pack in 3 different brainstorming exercises, some acting and some time for mingling.

It's cold, snowy, and often gloomy this time of year.  This makes it hard to find the motivation to haul your warm body into the chill to meet new contacts. Inevitably, your brainstorming skills get rusty as you hide in hibernation. Luckily we accomplished both networking and brainstorming in our virtual ideation party on Facebook. Virtual ideation is a great way to collaborate, and tickle some of those unused brain cells in the comfort of your own home.

We had a few entrepreneurs in our mix as well as some IdeaKube ideation party alums! If you want to see all the ideas,

Jan 12, 2013 Ideation Party at JuiceTank

It's in the books! This was an ideation party with many firsts: the first in 2013; the first in New Jersey; and the first at JuiceTank. Our attendees brought enthusiasm and experiences in acting, technology, pharma, and marketing. We spent the session with a fun brain twister, flipping thought processes so we could find solutions to the opposite of challenges. For example, instead of "increasing sales", we brainstormed how to "decrease sales". This forced us to think of solutions we otherwise wouldn't have.
